After recently interviewing with the Utah Jazz for a second time and losing out on the job to Quin Snyder, Los Angeles Clippers assistant Alvin Gentry will interview with the Cleveland Cavaliers for a second time on Monday. According to Los Angeles Times/Clippers beat reporter Brad Turner, the Cavs will bring Gentry in after the weekend for the second time during their head coaching search.
Last weekend Gentry was the third to be interviewed by the Cavs in a week’s time. You can check out the Right Down Euclid report on the initial interview with Gentry here. Cleveland also has interest in Maccabi Tel Aviv head coach David Blatt, who surfaced as a name that the Cavs front office will look to on Friday. It was also reported around Friday that Cleveland will wrap up its search for a head coach within the next 10 days, giving the team a head on-court presence when it drafts on June 26.
