2009 and 2010 – In both years, the Los Angeles Lakers advanced to the NBA Finals by winning Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals on the road with Kobe Bryant being the leading scorer. They demolished the Denver Nuggets, 119-92, in 2009. Then, 365 days later, the Lakers defeated the Phoenix Suns, 111-103. Each of those postseasons resulted in the Lakers winning the championship.

Although the Lakers did not win the 2014 NBA Draft Lottery, the organization will look to build its roster before Bryant retires in what will mostly be a few seasons away. The time is running out, so a Kevin Love signing within the next couple of years would give the Lakers a chance.
