2001 – In Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals, the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the San Antonio Spurs, 111-82. Derek Fisher scored a game-high 28 points in the victory. This series was the second of six postseason meetings between Kobe Bryant’s Lakers and Tim Duncan’s Spurs. In each of those series, the winner went on to make the NBA Finals.

Fisher and Duncan meet again in the playoffs, and it is in the 2014 Western Conference Finals. Unfortunately, it does not look like Bryant and Duncan will meet in the playoffs anymore. Neither of the future Hall of Famers will be in the NBA for more than a few years, so the Lakers are going to try to make it a quick turnaround in the upcoming couple of seasons.
