2008 – With a 97-92 Boston Celtics victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 7 of the second round, the Celtics won the series. Paul Pierce and LeBron James went toe-to-toe as the Celtics’ captain scored 41 points on 57-percent shooting while King James put up 45 points on 48-percent shooting. In the afternoon contest at TD Garden, the Celtics rode Pierce’s great play to the series win. The 2008 Celtics then went on to win the franchise’s first championship in 22 years.

In 2014, Pierce and James squared off for the fifth time in a postseason series. The Truth fought hard, but the Brooklyn Nets were unable to win more than one contest from the Miami Heat. James’ teams are now 3-2 against Pierce’s squads, and James is hoping to make it a three-peat for the Heat as well. It will be interesting to see if Pierce gets revenge in a future season.
