2009 – With an 89-70 Los Angeles Lakers victory over the Houston Rockets in Game 7 of the second round, the Lakers won the series. After the Rockets forced the deciding game by winning the previous contest in Houston, the Lakers’ strong first half propelled them to the series victory. Pau Gasol led the way with 21 points while the highest scorer for Houston put up just 13. The Lakers went on to win their first of back-to-back championships.

An unrestricted free agent in 2014, Gasol would not mind being in Los Angeles, Memphis, Chicago or San Antonio next season. He may not be with Kobe Bryant in 2014-15, but Gasol was a part of both of the Lakers’ most recent championships. It will be interesting to see how the rest of the 33-year-old’s career unfolds.
