1980 – With a 123-107 Los Angeles Lakers victory over the Philadelphia 76ers in Game 6 of the NBA Finals, the Lakers won their seventh championship. Magic Johnson had game-highs with 42 points scored and 14 free throws made in the win.

Johnson has been the primary figure highlighted by Donald Sterling, who has been in the news recently. It will be interesting to see if Johnson, who is currently an owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers, goes after the Clippers next. However, if the Clippers players and coaches are no longer there in a few months’ time, I am not so sure the position would be as desirable.
