On This Date in NBA History: April 30, Ray Allen Scored 51 Points

2009 – In a 128-127 Boston Celtics triple overtime loss to the Chicago Bulls in Game 6 of the first round, Ray Allen scored a game-high 51 points, which is the most points he has ever scored in a playoff game. In the marathon game at the United Center, four players fouled out.

Allen has hit many important shots during his NBA postseason career. His most recent one came in Game 6 of the 2013 Finals. In Allen’s first year with the Heat, he made the game-tying 3-pointer with 5.2 seconds remaining in regulation. He scored five more points in the overtime in Game 6 as Miami went on to win the game and eventually the championship.
