When the Cleveland Cavaliers attempt to sweep the season series against the Oklahoma City Thunder, they will be without two key members of the rotation. Small forward Luol Deng and guard C.J. Miles will miss tonight’s game with left ankle sprains. Mary Schmidt-Boyer of the Cleveland Plain Dealer first broke the news on Twitter earlier today. Alonzo Gee will likely start in Deng’s place, as he did when Deng misses Tuesday’s game against the Miami Heat.
No update was given on guard Dion Waiters, who limped off the court on Tuesday after a collision near the end of the game.
Luol Deng and CJ Miles ( sprained left ankles) out for #Cavs vs OKC tonight

With the Cavaliers already without Kyrie Irving (who is out with a left bicep strain), this leaves them thin on the wing. It was rumored a few days ago that the team had signed guard Seth Curry from the D-League, but it hasn’t been officially announced by the team or been confirmed by local media.
This injury news comes just hours before a tough style matchup for the Cavaliers – even if they were fully healthy. With MVP candidate Kevin Durant starting at small forward, the Thunder already had an advantage at that possession. But with Deng and Miles out, Gee is the only player on the roster who plays small forward and likely will defend Durant the entire time he is on the floor. Waiters, if he can go, could potentially be the other Cavalier tasked with defending Durant. Tipoff for tonight’s game is at 7 p.m. from Quicken Loans Arena.
