NBA Trade Rumors — The Washington Wizards seem to be joining the race for Luol Deng on trade deadline day. Over the last couple of days, there have been rumors that the Cleveland Cavaliers are exploring the market for the former All-Star they recently acquired, with teams like the Dallas Mavericks quickly showing interest. According to Marc Stein of ESPN, the Wizards are also in talks with Cleveland.

Earlier on Thursday, the Cavaliers traded for Spencer Hawes, and it seems that the team wants to continue making a playoff push rather than tanking the season. With that in mind, it would be somewhat baffling if the Cavaliers actually ended up moving Deng, unless the team feels like he is ready to go elsewhere this summer.

As Stein mentions, the Wizards have previously been interested in Deng, and they do have some interesting players to offer in return. They could potentially include Trevor Ariza in a package, who would serve as a direct replacement for the Cavaliers.
