NBA Trade Rumors – The Brooklyn Nets and the Sacramento Kings have reportedly entered serious discussions regarding a trade which would send Jason Terry and Reggie Evans to Sacramento, in return for Marcus Thornton.

As the NBA trade deadline approaches on Thursday, the Kings are in a state of upheaval. Sacramento’s talks with Brooklyn on a deal to acquire guard Jason Terry and forward Reggie Evans for Kings guard Marcus Thornton have progressed to a serious stage, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

None of the players which could potentially be included in this deal are really high impact guys, and it looks more like a case of teams trying to get rid of assets they don’t really want. Evans, Terry and Thornton will all have expiring contracts next summer, so it’s not really like any side would be shedding too much salary.

Outside of a fantastic 42-point game, Thornton has been as inconsistent as they come this season, but the Nets would probably still prefer him over Terry. Evans has played very little under Jason Kidd, and it’s uncertain whether he would play much more in Sacramento. Last season he did average 11.1 rebounds per contest, but his game is limited to brute force, toughness and rebounding, as he is a complete non-factor on offense.
