NBA Trade Rumors — The Los Angeles Clippers have been reported to be interested in adding a big man, but it seems that another player that is of interest to Doc Rivers’ team is Iman Shumpert. According to Marc Stein of ESPN, the New York Knicks and the Clippers have a basic framework for a deal, but there is a major hurdle.

The Knicks are looking for a new point guard and would receive Darren Collison in a potential trade, but New York wants to dump Raymond Felton’s contract as well.

Clips undeniably interested in Shumpert. Knicks definitely want Collison. But CLips prefer not to take back Felton or part wi/Reggie Bullock.

ESPN has learned Knicks are telling teams that have interest in Shumpert: It’ll either cost you a first or you have to take on Felton’s deal.

To sum up: If Knicks can convince Clips to trade them Collison AND take back Felton, they’ve pulled off a Trade Deadline Week upset

The Knicks have been looking at a bunch of point guard options lately, including Kyle Lowry and Jeff Teague. However, the deal breaker always seems to come down to Felton’s contract, which still has two years remaining after this season, and no team is willing to take on.

There are obvious hurdles here, but there is also mutual interest from both sides, and we’ll have to wait and see whether either side will make concessions to get a deal done.
