NBA Trade Rumors – The Cleveland Cavaliers are apparently not happy with Jarrett Jack’s performances as Kyrie Irving’s backup, and the team has been shopping him. With the trade deadline only days away, the Sacramento Kings and the Brooklyn Nets are two teams that are interested in Jack’s services.
A league source confirmed the Cavs have held talks with the Sacramento Kings and Brooklyn Nets over a possible deal for Jack, who is owed another $12.6 million guaranteed over the next two seasons. ESPN.com first reported the trade negotiations involving Jack, who has been shopped for the last couple of weeks.
The Cavs have discussed acquiring Jason Terry from the Nets and Jason Thompson or Marcus Thornton from the Kings.
Terry has declined severely over the last couple of years, and his contract doesn’t run out until the end of next season. The Kings, on the other hand, seem to be offering either Thompson or Thornton. None of these players are particularly pretty options, so this is more of a case where both teams are looking to get rid of guys they don’t really want.
Thornton is perhaps the most interesting name, but his contract isn’t attractive, and he’s been in and out of the lineup this season. He does have a 42-point outburst next to his name in 2013-14, but not much else.
