NBA Trade Rumors: The February trade deadline is sneaking up on us, so more and more players will see their names thrown around the rumor mill. Eric Gordon is no stranger to trade rumors, and his name is one that will likely be heard quite a bit over the next week or so. According to Gary Woelfel, the Milwaukee Bucks is a potential destination for the New Orleans Pelicans’ shooting guard.

The Bucks have been abysmal this season, so it’s only natural that they would be interested in making moves. The Pelicans have been in a similar boat, as their postseason aspirations quickly withered down to a distant dream. Ever since signing Gordon to that huge extension, the consensus around the league has been that New Orleans would love to get rid of his contract.

So, what could the Bucks potentially offer the Pelicans? They do have the necessary assets to make salaries match, but with Gordon staying healthy and playing somewhat better of late, it’s hard to find a mutually beneficial deal. Larry Sanders is another player who signed a huge contract, but has been criticized quite a bit for his off-court antics since then. Sanders is still a talented player, and pairing him with Anthony Davis would make up the best shot-blocking frontcourt in the NBA. In this hypothetical scenario, the Bucks would most likely try to include one of their own bad deals, such as the O.J. Mayo or Zaza Pachulia contracts.

Whether or not the two teams eventually pick up the phone and engage in potential negotiations remains to be seen.
