NBA Trade Rumors – The hottest trade rumors lately have involved Pau Gasol, as the Phoenix Suns have been in talks with the Los Angeles Lakers to acquire the veteran big man’s services. However, it seems that the talks have stalled as of late, as Phoenix feels that the Lakers are asking for too much in return for the expiring contract of Gasol.
The Phoenix Suns have stopped talks to acquire Pau Gasol because they feel the Lakers want too much for the veteran post player, according to a person familiar with the situation.
Phoenix could own four picks in the June draft, and the Lakers coveted one of the more valuable two — the pick the Suns could potentially get from Minnesota or the one they might receive from Washington.
This was to be expected, but a trade here could be in the interest of both parties, and according to Ramona Shelburne, the Lakers could simply be posturing and expect to continue talking with the Suns up until the deadline:
Lakers do not believe talks with Phoenix for Gasol are over, I'm told. Expect talks with Suns and other teams to cont until 2/20 deadline

It’s pretty much a guarantee at this point that the Suns will in on one way or another look to improve their roster before the deadline. The Lakers obviously want one of the more lucrative picks that the Suns have, but Phoenix will most likely look at other available options before making a decision on Gasol.
