LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh all sacrificed a lot of money by joining the Miami Heat. All three players will have the option to terminate their contracts with the team this summer, and according to early reports, keeping the crew together might be harder than expected. According to NY Daily News, the Big 3 all want their next contracts to be max deals.
Miami wants to re-sign LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, but all three have already sent signals that they want maximum salaries this time around because they feel they all sacrificed by taking less than max dollars in 2010. As one Miami insider put it, “that’s a real concern for us.” The biggest concern? LeBron leaving.
Obviously, if all three players are looking to sign for max money, it would be virtually impossible to sign decent role players around them. They all took significantly less to play together, but whether or not the party will go on in South Beach this summer remains to be seen. With Wade slowly regressing, a lot will naturally depend on whether this season ends with a third consecutive championship for the Heat.
