The New York Knicks’ frontcourt continues to get thinner, as Andrea Bargnani is the latest name on the injury list. According to ESPN, Bargnani’s MRI results showed a torn ligament in his elbow. The injury occured in the game against the New York Knicks, during a play which fans seem to have dubbed “Air Bargnani.” Bargnani pump-faked and drove to the basket, taking a hard fall.

The reeling New York Knicks have lost yet another big man with Andrea Bargnani now out indefinitely with a torn ligament in his left elbow.

The team announced Bargnani underwent an MRI that revealed the injury. The 7-footer injured his elbow with under two minutes remaining in the third quarter of Wednesday’s game, according to the team. He took a hard spill on his left elbow during the game while trying to attempt a dunk.

Obviously this leaves the Knicks even thinner up front, but John Schuhmann pointed out on Twitter that the Knicks have been better with Bargnani off the floor, so perhaps it’s not all doom and gloom.
