NBA Trade Rumors — Daryl Morey and the Houston Rockets always look for ways to improve their roster. The latest target could be Mike Dunleavy.
It would seem that the Rockets have been encouraged by the recent Luol Deng trade and believe that the Bulls could start shopping more of the their players.
According to a person with knowledge of the Rockets’ thinking, Chicago Bulls small forward Mike Dunleavy is high on their wish list as the deadline nears. The person spoke to USA TODAY Sports on the condition of anonymity because a team’s plans aren’t typically discussed publicly. The Rockets haven’t acted on this impulse just yet, as a person with knowledge of the Bulls’ dealings said Houston has yet to call to discuss a possible deal.
Dunleavy would likely be a good fit with the Rockets, being able to stretch the floor on the wing. However, it would likely take a pretty lucrative offer for Chicago to part ways with their recent signing. Dunleavy is on a very friendly two-year $6 million contract, and with the Bulls looking to quickly reload their roster, they have little incentive to move him. Without breaking up their own core, the Rockets would likely have to spice up their offer with a draft pick or two.
