Marc Stein of ESPN is reporting that Jerryd Bayless could be moved to the Boston Celtics. The Memphis Grizzlies and the Celtics are supposedly in advanced discussions with each other and Courtney Lee would head the other way.

Stein also followed up with another tweet saying the deal is happening and will go down on Monday. So there you go, Bayless should soon be wearing green and Lee will be headed to Memphis.

We’ll have to wait and see if any other player or a pick is involved in the deal, but overall this seems like a positive trade for the Celtics. Lee is on a pretty big contract for his production, while Bayless is on an expiring deal. This will provide Boston with some more flexibility moving forward and they will, arguably, get the better player in return.

Bayless should provide some solid backup point guard minutes for the Celtics behind Jordan Crawford, as the team eagerly awaits the return of Rajon Rondo, who is on his way back from an ACL tear.
