The Brooklyn Nets are not having a fun season and it is starting to get to Paul Pierce. The San Antonio Spurs handed out their punishment on New Year’s Eve and passed the Nets yet another blowout loss. After the game, Pierce was clearly upset.
“It’s embarrassing man,” Paul Pierce said. “You go out and you are down 30 at the end of the third quarter, you give up 98 points. It’s embarrassing. I don’t know if I’ve probably been a part of this many blowouts in one season already, but at some point, we’ve got to be able to have our pride and it has to be able to come from each individual and say, ‘We’ve just had enough of this.’ It’s extremely embarrassing.”
Ever since Brook Lopez went down with a broken foot, Brooklyn has gone 1-4, beating just the mediocre Milwaukee Bucks. Pierce might be upset, but he hasn’t done much to help the team this season. He has looked out of shape and is putting up close to career-low numbers across the board.
With Lopez out, things are not looking to get brighter for the Nets in what certainly must feel like a lost season already.
