NBA Trade Rumors

The trade rumors around league have slowed down a little in the last couple of days after several pretty significant deals went down earlier in the month. The Orlando Magic are reportedly being considered as “value shoppers” around the league as of right now and could make players like Glen Davis and Jameer Nelson available.

League sources characterize the Magic as ‘value shoppers’ in the current trade market. They have a couple of players that they would entertain moving, namely guard Jameer Nelson and forward Glen Davis but do not seem overly engaged on trying to craft a deal for either one and are turning away calls and offers on guard Arron Afflalo.

It’s interesting that the Magic are turning down offers for Afflalo. The team was reportedly close to moving him to the Los Angeles Clippers last summer, but ended up keeping him, hoping that his trade value would increase. It has certainly done that early on into this season, so it’s interesting that Orlando want to keep him instead of cashing in on the value.

Nelson and Davis are pretty obvious names that could be used as trade bait, but it seems that the Magic are in no hurry to move pieces just for the sake of it. Either way, the closer we get to the February trade deadline, the more likely it will become that the Magic will be looking to move one of their veteran players, especially if someone slams some first-round picks on the table.
