Brook Lopez out for the year

The injury woes for the Brooklyn Nets continue to get worse and it seems that Brook Lopez will miss the rest of the season with a broken foot. Gary Tanguay of CSNNE.com just broke the news through his sources.

None of the major dogs seem to have picked up on the story yet, but NetsDaily also confirm the report. This pretty much ends the Nets’ already distant championship aspirations. In his 17 appearances this season Lopez averaged 20.7 points, six rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game.

The Nets went all in this summer, acquiring Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett in order to make a run for the championship. They have struggled mightily and just about every single player from the original starting lineup has missed time due to injuries.

Lopez has also been hurt and missed several games, but remained the team’s best and most consistent offensive player.
