On This Date in NBA History: December 15, Tim Duncan and David Robinson Named Sportsmen of the Year

2003 – After winning their second championship together, Tim Duncan and David Robinson (@DavidtheAdmiral) were named Sportsmen of the Year by Sports Illustrated. It was the first time multiple basketball players were the Sportsmen of the Year. Duncan is currently in his 17th NBA season and is still playing at a high level. Robinson was a 10-time all-star and was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2009.
