NBA Trade Rumors

Thursday evening several reports linked Kyle Lowry to the New York Knicks, but according to Adrian Wojnarowski a move to the Brooklyn Nets is now also a possibility.

Wojnarowski also mentioned in another tweet that the Raptors are in no hurry to move their starting point guard and are talking to several different teams.

The Knicks can most likely put together the most attractive package for Lowry, but the Raptors are asking for two of the following three in return: Tim Hardaway Jr., Knicks’ 2018 first-round pick or Iman Shumpert. Needless to say, it’s quite a big price to pay for an expiring contract.

It’s a bit curious why the Nets would be interested in Lowry at this point. Sure, Deron Williams has been hurt a lot this season, but when he is healthy the team does have some decent options behind him in Shaun Livingson and even Tyshawn Taylor. Lowry is obviously a lot better than the two reserves, but Williams would likely gobble up most of the minutes for the Nets either way.
