1983 – The Detroit Pistons defeated the Denver Nuggets, 186-184, in the highest-scoring game in NBA history. The game lasted three overtimes and included four players who scored at least 40 points each: Kiki Vandeweghe 51 and Alex English 47 for the Nuggets in addition to Isiah Thomas (@iamisiahthomas) 47 and John Long 41 for the Pistons. There were 9,655 fans in attendance at McNichols Sports Arena in Denver as both teams left this game with an 11-12 record.
