NBA Trade Rumors – Zach Randolph might be enjoying life with the Memphis Grizzlies and has added a lot to the team’s grit-and-grind style of play. But he could be hitting the trade market soon, as the Grizzlies are rumored to be willing to move the power forward to the New Orleans Pelicans.
Several sources said the Grizzlies are currently shopping power forward Zach Randolph, and two of them are hearing there’s a destination and main trade piece involved: New Orleans and stretch-4 Ryan Anderson, who’s averaging a team-high 21.7 points per game on 47.7 percent shooting from three-point range.
“A trade centered around Randolph and Anderson should happen down the line this season,” one source said.
If the Pelicans are willing to move Anderson, it’s very understandable that the Grizzlies are interested. At 32, Randolph is not getting any younger and Anderson has been on fire since coming back from his injury.
Memphis’ biggest downfall last couple of years has been their inability to space the floor, lacking consistent perimeter threats and having two big men who prefer to operate in the post. Adding a 6 ft 10 power forward who is currently shooting 47.7% from beyond the arc and averaging 21.7 points per game is certainly not a bad return for Randolph and would likely be a better fit next to Marc Gasol.
