NBA Trade Rumors

The Miami Heat will not be making any major changes to their roster, but there are certainly ways the reigning NBA champions can shuffle around some of their bench players in order to add depth to certain positions. It seems that the Heat are looking to do just that and according to ESPN they are in the market for another backcourt player.

The Heat (14-5) have a glut of big men and have been looking into trading one for a guard, or to clear a roster spot so they can sign a player later. Center-forward Joel Anthony, who has played in just five games this season, is one of the players who may be available.

It’s understandable that Miami wants to add another perimeter player. Dwyane Wade is on a very cautious programme this season and will continue to sit out a lot of games in order to preserve his health. Adding another player who can help Ray Allen fill the void would perhaps allow the Heat to not drop as many games as they are likely to do with Wade out. It seems that Joel Anthony could be the odd man out, as the Heat already have Chris Andersen and, eventually, Greg Oden as backups for the center position.
