1956 – Happy 57th birthday to Hall of Fame forward Larry Bird who spent 13 seasons in the NBA, all of which were with the Boston Celtics. After winning the league’s Executive of the Year award in 2011-12 as the Indiana Pacers President of Basketball Operations, he became the only player in NBA history to be named the Most Valuable Player, Coach of the Year and Executive of the Year. Bird was a three-time champion, two-time Finals MVP, three-time regular season MVP and 12-time All-Star. In addition, his 24.3 points per game average ranks as the 17th-highest in NBA history.
