NBA Trade Rumors
The trade rumors are finally starting to pick up again. The fact that Omer Asik will likely be moved this season is no news. He requested a trade a while back, after it became blatantly obvious that both Asik and Dwight Howard couldn’t share the court or the minutes at the center spot. However, it seems that the Rockets are a lot eager to move Asik at this point than they were a few weeks back, and intend to complete a trade by Dec. 19.
Hearing this strong: Rockets determined to trade Omer Asik by Dec. 19 at latest and have ramped up discussions with potential trade partners

It’s a bit of a weird to set a deadline on a trade, but obviously Houston would prefer to move a disgruntled Asik as soon as possible. While it would seem that trade talks have picked up, it’s probably not very likely that a deal gets done until after Dec. 15, which is when teams are allowed to trade their recent free agent acquisitions.
It will certainly be interesting to see what the Rockets can get for their center. He does have value to a lot of teams that lack a solid defensive big man down the middle, but the general consensus up until now has been that Houston is asking for a little too much in return.
