The Memphis Grizzlies suffered a tough blow when the reigning NBA Defensive Player of the Year Marc Gasol recently went down with an MCL sprain. Initially, it was expected that the center would be out for anywhere between six and 10 weeks, but he might be back a lot sooner than that.
An article by AP mentions that Gasol is expected to be out for three to four weeks. Although it’s not a definite statement or an official medical prediction released by the team, Gasol is known to be impatient when it comes to injuries and has assured everyone that he will do whatever he can to speed up the recovery.
”I don’t care what number they say, I told them as soon as I can put my foot down on the floor and I can walk, I’m going to rush it and speed the process.”
It is worth noting that in the initial report, Gasol was expected to be on crutches for three to four weeks, so the early return date might be a tad optimistic. Either way, Gasol will not waste any time and get back to the floor as soon as possible.
