NBA Trade Rumors – Derrick Williams’ name is one that is no stranger to trade rumors. He has not managed to establish himself in the league and is currently buried deep within Rick Adelman’s rotation. It would appear that a trade is imminent, or at least that what the word on the street seems to be.
Buzz from Mohegan Sun event over the weekend where #Twolves GM Milt Newton was: D-Will trade is close. Utah, Sac. NYK, Nets possible.

According to Wolfson, Utah Jazz, New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets and Sacramento Kings are potential destinations for the former No. 2 overall pick.
Moving Williams to the Kings would probably be the easiest option. Sacramento has a ton of trade assets, with DeMarcus Cousins and perhaps Ben McLemore being the only two untouchables.
The Knicks have been actively shopping Iman Shumpert and seem to be looking for frontcourt depth in return, so the two teams could potentially work something out there. Shumpert would be a decent fit off the bench for Minnesota, while Williams could probably establish a role in the chaos that is New York’s roster.
The Nets certainly wouldn’t mind adding some youth and athleticism to an aging and injury-prone roster, but the team hardly has any tradable assets that would interest Minnesota.
And finally we have the Jazz, who have a bunch of expiring contracts, but not much to tempt the Wolves into a trade. Gordon Hayward isn’t going anywhere and neither is Enes Kanter, so the only player that could conceivably be included in some kind of a package would be Alec Burks.
