1982 – The Cleveland Cavaliers lost their 24th consecutive game, setting the record for the longest losing streak in NBA history. The New Jersey Nets defeated the Cavaliers, 99-91, on Friday, November 5 to push Cleveland’s record to 0-5 on the young season after the Cavaliers lost its final 19 games of the 1981-82 season. This 24-game losing streak stood as the longest NBA losing streak until the Cavaliers broke their own record in the 2010-11 season with 26 straight.
