NBA Trade Rumors – Considering the circumstances, the Los Angeles Lakers have started the season relatively well, but they are still in for a tough year. It’s hard to put a ceiling on how many games the Lakers can win this season as there are so many unknown factors. One of these unknown factors is the health of Steve Nash.
According to Alex Kennedy of HOOPSWORLD, Nash could potentially be traded this season:
Steve Nash is another vet who may be traded this year. I’ve heard Toronto as a possible landing spot for Nash from multiple league sources.
The landing spot isn’t particularly surprising — Nash was seriously considering signing with the Raptors when he was a free agent, but ended up with what was supposed to be a super team in L.A.
It’s easy to see the incentive for the Lakers — Nash is struggling to stay healthy and his salary limits their flexibility in this summer’s free agency.
Still, it’s pretty hard seeing the Raptors actively seeking a trade for Nash. Masai Ujiri is always open to trade, but it’s hard to predict what the Raptors GM is looking for right now. Is he looking to move the long-term contract of DeMar DeRozan and the bloated Rudy Gay contract? What is he looking for in return?
The rumor seems pretty legitimate, so we will have to wait and see whether the Lakers can move Nash until the deadline.
