1966 – Happy 47th birthday to Atlanta Hawks General Manager Danny Ferry, who was a two-time ACC Player of the Year during his four collegiate years at Duke University. He was drafted second overall in the 1989 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Clippers. Ferry did not play a game with the Clippers, but played 10 seasons with the Cleveland Cavaliers and three with the San Antonio Spurs. He was a part of San Antonio’s 2003 championship team and then went on to work in the franchise’s front office from 2003 to 2005. Afterwards, Ferry returned to Cleveland as the Cavaliers General Manager (2005-2010) and then back to San Antonio as the Vice President of Basketball Operations (2010-2012).
