NBA Preseason — Tuesday evening the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Denver Nuggets met in a preseason game and the story of the game was undoubtedly Kevin Durant.

With his right hand man Russell Westbrook out, Durant has been very impressive in preseason and has looked ahead of everyone. While most players are still trying to find their groove and get back into playing shape, it feels as though Durant already has a head start and looks like he’s 30 games into the regular season.

After playing the role of a distributor in the previous game, Durant decided to do what he does best against the Nuggets — score the basketball.

Durant dropped 36 points, grabbed six rebounds and dished out four assists against Denver. Not a particularly unusual statline for Durant, but he put up those numbers in just 23 minutes of action while shooting 13-20 from the field.

This type of play by Durant should certainly allow the medical staff to take it easy with Westbrook and make sure he is 100% before he returns to the court, as his superstar teammate is more than capable of holding down the fort in his absence.
