1962 – Today is the 51st anniversary of NBA center Manute Bol’s birth. He played for the Washington Bullets, Golden State Warriors and Philadelphia 76ers and led the league in blocks in two different seasons, one of which was his rookie year. Bol played in the league from 1985 to 1994 and is considered the second tallest player in league history at seven feet, 6.75 inches. Bullets and New Jersey Nets center Gheorghe Muresan, who began his career as Bol was finishing his, was measured at seven feet, seven inches during his playing career.
