1993 – After winning his third straight NBA championship with the Chicago Bulls, Michael Jordan announced his retirement from basketball. This would prove to be his first and shortest retirement of his career. The Hall of Famer returned after playing a few years of minor league baseball and won another three-peat of titles with the Bulls.
