Kobe Bryant suffered a devastating Achilles tear last season, an injury that was expected to keep him out until at least December. But anyone who knows Kobe also knows that he will cut every corner and do everything in his power to accelerate the process. Actually, Bryant believes he will be ready for the start of the regular season.

“Now it’s about cutting the recovery time, I should be OK [for the start of the season],” Bryant said in an interview with The National, a website in Dubai.

If Kobe would indeed return to the floor as early as opening night it would mark one of the most impressive athlete recoveries of all time.

Last season Bryant spent almost every hour that he was awake doing some sort of recovery in order to be able to shoulder a massive workload on the floor, so he is not stranger to hard work. One way or another, all we can do is wait for opening night to see if Bryant is indeed ready to play.
