Both Jonas Valanciunas and Donatas Motiejunas have had shaky performances in EuroBasket 2013 so far. Valanciunas has had a couple of good games but has also spent valuable time on the bench, watching the veterans carry the load instead. It has been a similar tournament for Motiejunas, only he has barely had an opportunity to show what he is capable of. That was not the case on Friday, as the two youngsters lead their team past Belgium.

Valanciunas looked active from the very beginning, but got hit with a hard foul and had to step off the court to stop the blood that was coming from his head. When the Toronto Raptors big man returned he continued to be active on both ends of the floor and finished the game with a double-double –12 points and 10 rebounds. What was most impressive about the stat line was the fact that Valanciunas played just over 8 minutes.

Motiejunas played 18 minutes himself and was the leading scorer for Lithuania with 13 points.

Lithuania started out a little slow but eased into the game and held a 35-point lead in the third quarter, winning the game 86-67.

Lithuania will take on Ukraine in their last game of the secondary group stage on Sunday.
