Cleveland Cavaliers sign Matthew Dellavedova

The Cavaliers signed rookie undrafted free agent Matthew Dellavedova to a contract today. The deal is worth $1.3 million over two years. Sources say only a small portion is guaranteed.

Dellavedova was on the Cavaliers summer league roster. He averaged 2.8 points per game while handing out 3 assists per game.

He played his college ball for Saint Mary’s College of California, where he is the all-time leader in points, assists, games played and free throw percentage. He was an academic All-American for the 2012-13 season. Dellavedova is also a member of the Australian national team.

He is listed at 6’4” and 190 pounds. The Cavaliers still have an opening for the third point guard spot, and with the signing, Dellavedova will compete for that final spot.
