On This Date in NBA History: July 13, Spud Webb was born


1963 – Happy 50th birthday to retired Hawks and Kings guard Spud Webb, most known as the 1986 Slam Dunk Contest champion. He is also the shortest player to ever compete in an NBA Dunk Contest. Webb is currently the President of Basketball Operations for the Texas Legends, the D-League affiliate of the Dallas Mavericks.
