The Golden State Warriors have traded Richard Jefferson and Andris Biedrins to the Utah Jazz, as part of the salary dump the team is doing. The team has also signed Andre Iguodala.
It’s still unclear as to what the details of the deal are, but the two expiring contracts will be heading to Utah.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo, this salary dump has allowed the Warriors to sign the coveted free agent Andre Iguodala to a four-year $48 million contract.
This doesn’t entirely rule the Warriors out of the Dwight Howard sweepstakes. If Howard decides to sign with Golden State, the team could still swing a sign-and-trade with the Los Angeles Lakers. This really looks like a fantastic move on the Warriors part, especially if the team can form its own big three with Howard, Stephen Curry and Iguodala.
Stay tuned to KJG and keep refreshing this post as updates with more details on the deal will follow as soon as it breaks.
Ok so this is getting more and more ridiculous. Apparently, the dead money invested in Jefferson and Biedrins is not the only thing heading to the Jazz. Utah will take on the expiring contract of Brandon Rush as well.
Kevin Murphy will be headed to the Warriors.
So here is the catch — the Jazz get two future first-round draft picks from Golden State
