On This Date in NBA History: July 1, The Warriors Signed Hall of Famer Rick Barry

1972 – The Golden State Warriors signed Rick Barry as a free agent. He then spent the next six seasons in Golden State, where he won a championship in 1975 and was a six-time All-Star selection. Barry is the only player to lead the NCAA, ABA and NBA in scoring for an individual season. In 1987, Barry was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
