Recent rumors have said that the Phoenix Suns would make Gortat available, with the Portland Trail Blazers potentially being interested. When the Suns drafted Alex Len, it seemed only a matter of time before the Polish center would be moved, but it seems that it’s no certainty just yet.

“We’re not looking to move him,” Suns general manager Ryan McDonough told Arizona Sports 620′s Burns and Gambo Friday. “As you guys I’m sure know, Alex had foot surgery, and he’s not ready to play.

“Marcin is one of our best players here. He’s a core guy for us. He is one of the more athletic bigs in the league, he screens, he rolls, he finishes and he blocks shots.”

“We’re going into the year with him as our starting center.”

Despite having a stress fracture in his foot, Len should be good to go for the start of the 2013-14 season, but it seems that Gortat will keep his starting job. However, a lot can happen between now and November, and Gortat isn’t exactly an untouchable.
