Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett to Brooklyn Nets

Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce to the Brooklyn Nets in a trade, let’s not forget Jason Terry is included as well, making this trade look pretty good, for the Nets that is. Along with their rookie coach Jason Kidd, they have a front line of Deron Williams, Joe Johnson, Brook Lopez, to include Pierce and Garnett. Not a bad starting line-up even with the aging veteran legs coming from Boston.

According to ESPN.com, after news of the proposed trade, Sportsbook.com dropped the Nets’ odds to win the NBA title from 50-1 to 25-1.

Boston will get three first-round draft picks, Kris Humphries, MarShon Brooks, Gerald Wallace, and Kris Joseph. Clearly this is a rebuilding move on the Boston Celtics part; they get younger players from the Nets, and draft picks in 2014, 16, and 2018, although they may not be very high draft picks since this trade should make Brooklyn a near future top contender in the East.

I wonder what Rajon Rondo is thinking right now, with hopes of winning a second NBA championship further down that road than it was last week. Time will tell, but things are not looking good in Bean-town.

Thanks for the memories, Paul and KG. I wish them luck, except when they play against the Celtics. Hte to see them go, but everything must end, and that time is now.
