1982 – The Los Angeles Lakers chose Hall of Famer James Worthy of the University of North Carolina with the first overall pick of the 10-round 1982 NBA Draft. He went on to be a seven-time All-Star and three-time champion. Other All-Stars drafted that year were Terry Cummings, Mark Eaton, Sleepy Floyd, Fat Lever, Ricky Pierce and Dominique Wilkins.
