Mo Williams’ future with Utah Jazz uncertain

Mo had an injury-plagued year with the Jazz last season, and it looks like he will be leaving the team this summer. Williams is an unrestricted free agent, but will only consider returning to the team if he keeps the starting spot, which seems unlikely since Utah traded up to pick Trey Burke in the 2013 NBA draft:

Mo Williams will re-sign as a free agent with the Utah Jazz only if he remains the starting point guard next season, a source told Yahoo!

The demand comes a day after the Jazz traded up in the draft to getUniversity of Michigan star Trey Burke, who was selected ninth on Thursday night.

“He’s not going to come back as a backup,” the source said of Williams.

Burke has also said that he wants to come in and start right away. This is probably the best for both parties, as the Jazz will probably want to let Burke run the show and grow together with the young core of the Jazz.
