NBA Trade Rumors – The New Orleans Pelicans have apparently made Eric Gordon “very available” in trade talks, according to RealGM.

This isn’t that surprising, as Gordon has been injury prone for most of his young career, but is still only 24 years old and some teams would probably be willing to take a chance with him.

If the rumors are true, it means that the Pelicans are intending to build around Anthony Davis and have given up on Gordon as the team’s franchise player. Gordon was the main piece the Pelicans got in return when Chris Paul left the team, and protected their investment when they matched the offer sheet Gordon signed with the Phoenix Suns.

Gordon’s injury history should be a major concern for just about every team interested in him, but the Pelicans probably don’t expect to get a franchise player in return. There is no word on whether anyone is interested in Gordon, but the best case scenario for the Pelicans would probably be to get some young prospects and/or expiring contracts in return for Gordon.
