NBA Trade Rumors – It seems that the story on Minnesota Timberwolves forward Derrick Williams changes on a daily basis. One day he is staying, the next he is on the market. Either way, it’s pretty clear that Minnesota wouldn’t mind parting ways with the former No. 2 overall pick for the right deal, which could be as simple as an opportunity to move up in the draft, according to ESPN:

The Wolves continue to try to move higher up in the draft to get their hands on Victor Oladipo. They’re offering Derrick Williams, the No. 9 and the No. 26 pick to move up, but so far haven’t found a taker. New Wolves GM Flip Saunders is enamored with Oladipo.

Again, the fact that Derrick Williams is not untouchable is no secret, and the offer that the Wolves are putting on the table is not too bad. The problem is perhaps the fact that Victor Oladipo is unlikely to fall out of the top 5, which leaves for a limited amount of potential trade partners.

Some reports have also suggested that the Timberwolves might keep Williams. Still, if an opportunity arises to land a top 5 pick, the Wolves probably wouldn’t hesitate to ship Wiliams out of town.
