Kobe Bryant Asks David Beckham For Advice On Injury

Kobe Bryant is recovering from a torn Achilles tendon, an injury which he suffered towards the end of the regular season. Two months out of surgery, Kobe is now able to walk and says that he can get up on his toes. While he is happy with his progress so far, he is always reaching out to other athletes who have had the same injury, and reached out to now retired football (soccer) superstar David Beckham, according to LA Times:

“Becks and I have grown to be pretty close since he’s been playing in Los Angeles for [the Galaxy] the last five years,” said Bryant in a video interview with on Friday while vacationing in Brazil.

Beckham tore his Achilles in 2010, but was able to make a strong return to the pitch.

“He and I talked for quite a bit about his process, and his recovery,” Kobe said. “He hasn’t had any issues with it since. He’s won several championships since the injury, so I’m pretty encouraged by that.”

The Los Angeles Lakers’ season came to a bitter end this year, after the Lakers got swept by the San Antonio Spurs in the first-round of the NBA Playoffs.
