LeBron James and the Miami Heat captured their second straight NBA title after defeating the San Antonio Spurs in game 7.
It was a close contest until the very end, and ended with Tim Duncan missing a shot he generally makes, and with LeBron coming up big and hitting a jumper on the other end.
James also won the Finals MVP, and scored 37 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and dished out 4 assists in the deciding game. Dwyane Wade added 23 points and 10 rebounds
The whole game had a little bit of a weird feeling to it. The Spurs seemed to play a very poor game, yet they were surprisingly close on the scoreboard throughout the contest.
Only five players scored for Miami in the final game – Chris Andersen, James, Wade, Shane Battier and Mario Chalmers, yet the Heat still managed to take down the title. Battier was huge, scoring 18 points on 6-8 from beyond the arc.
Unfortunately for the Spurs, the team’s x-factor, Danny Green, shot 1-12 in game 7.
Thanks to the San Antonio Spurs and the Miami Heat for an absolutely amazing series. It’s been a pleasure covering the NBA this season.
To finish his postgame interview, James went out with the following quote.
“I ain’t got no worries.”
